UGL Rail is what Goninan became. United Group bought it in 1999 and called it United Goninan, and after buying Alstom's Australian business in 2005 it became United Group Rail, later UGL Rail. CIMIC Group took over UGL in 2016.

Broadmeadow built QR National's 5000s and 5020s, Aurizon's 6000s and ACs, and PN's 93s, and it rebuilt the 3100/3200 electrics as the 3700 class with Siemens.

Based in Broadmeadow, NSW.
