Watco
Watco Australia turned up in Queensland in late 2019 with a seven-year GrainCorp contract, hauling grain and cattle on the narrow gauge. The first two of its eight brand new WRAs landed at the Port of Brisbane on 9 October 2019.
The rest of the fleet is old Queensland locos that have come home. The WRBs and WRCs are 2170s that Aurizon sold to Transnet in South Africa, the WRDs are ex-2250s that went the same way, and the WREs are ex-1720s bought for the cattle trains.
