Bowen Rail Company
Bowen Rail Company was set up in August 2020 by Adani (now Bravus) to haul coal from its Carmichael Mine. The trains run over the new 200 km Carmichael Rail Network, which opened in 2022, then onto Aurizon's Newlands system up to the North Queensland Export Terminal north of Bowen. Each train is two locos and 86 wagons, about 1,400 metres long, carrying roughly 7,300 tonnes.
